she/her

Since November 2021, I've been the Programs Lead at Bayside Library Service, responsible for all the programming we run. This role encompasses programming for adults and children, so I am incredibly busy! I previously worked at Port Phillip Library Service in a range of roles since 2012, managing staff deployment, social media, displays and more! I have won multiple awards for both my displays and customer service.
I love libraries and their role in the community and have presented on a range of topics at several conferences, from the importance of library staff to the social literacy skills gained in Lego Club. I have also been engaged by libraries as a freelance visual merchandiser. You can view my presentation on "Crafty Libraries" and the follow-up presentation "Further Visual Merchandising Tips" and "Face it: we all need novel display ideas" through the links. I also have a defunct (but still funky?) blog about libraries that probably reveals too much- I wrote it thinking that only my friends would read it and even that was probably ambitious! I co-presented at the Australian Library and Information Association conference in Canberra in May 2022 about my involvement in the first Victorian statewide summer reading program, the BIG Summer Read. You can view a different presentation called "Getting Summer Ready" that is just about my involvement with this project.
My freelance styling work has given me opportunities to work with some of the most incredible designers, stylists, photographers and artists, including Beci Orpin, Michelle Mackintosh, Chris Middleton, Glen Proebstel, Mark Roper, Deb Kaloper, Grant Cutelli and so many more!
Some of my design heroes are Charles and Ray Eames, Robin and Lucienne Day and Grant and Mary Featherston, but I also love contemporary designers too- I cried with happiness when I first came across the Bouroullec brothers' work over 15 years ago and Inge Sempé's work consistently makes my heart sing.
You'll see evidence of my busy home and life throughout this website - I am so lucky to have a husband and two adult kids who are my biggest inspiration and motivation.
I think a lot of the BEST design is created through collaboration, so if you're keen to work together, I'd love to hear from you...
Thanks!
